Oh the hardships of having to depend on food storage

Oh my. Yum Yum. Thrive went and freeze dried one of my all time favorite ice cream confections, the All American Ice Cream Sandwich!

I'm well beyond the 7th Heaven and floating towards Nirvana on this one.

Come Monday morning, we can all now have our ice cream and eat it too. Especially nice when one contemplates the circumstances one might find herself in during a catastrophe of sorts. I would take comfort in knowing I could actually turn to comfort food! There will be ice cream and yogurt as well.

Doesn't that just make your day all summer-and-ice-cream-truck happy?

GO TO YOUR HAPPY PLACE

Yep. That's me. 1 year old. What were my worries? Change my diaper, give me some food, keep me warm, play with me, love me. Pretty simple.

What has happened to my worries in the last 50+ years? Pretty complicated and definitely NOT pretty!
I think I have covered about everything physically possible a human being could worry about.

Local Issues
National Issues
Man-Made Issues
Earthquake
Govt. Regulation/Control
Flood
Martial Law
Fire
Food Shortages
Hurricane
Societal Breakdown
Snow/Ice Storm
Civil Disobedience/Riots
Tornado
Drought
Economic Collapse
Power Outage
Major Accident
Mudslide
Terrorism
Tsunami
Biological/Chemical/Radiological Attack
EMP Attack
Bombing
War
Global Issues
Personal Issues
Catastrophic Weather
Job Loss
Meteorite
Illness
Pole Shift
Medical Emergencies
Solar Flare
Financial Hardship
Severe Earth Changes
Bigfoot

Well, as far as the last one, maybe not so much. What can be done? What can be done?
That's a pretty dire list. Some things are so foreign to our experience as to be almost science fiction. But some hit close to home. I've personally experienced about 7 of these hardships in my life.

So like my post says, go to your happy place. That's not to say hide your head in the sand and say it ain't so. Go to your happy, prepared, secured, useable food storage and emergency packs and give thanks for being able to read the signs of the times. Prepare yourself a happy little pantry place where good, nutritious foods can be stored in readiness for any sort of emergency.

STORE WHAT YOU EAT! EAT WHAT YOU STORE! AND BE HAPPY!

The seven minute miracle!

They say 'things can change in a heartbeat'. 'Life can turn on a dime'. Well I want to share my 7 minute miracle with you.

In my journey to bring Food Storage out of the closet (!) and into the light of the kitchen, I was invited to do a little presentation for a non partisan political group. Wow! ME one of the featured speakers!! Anyway, with a bit of trepidation I arrived to find a room full of concerned citizens from all walks of life and from all parties.

Now you have to understand that I studiously avoid such gatherings. I prefer to keep my opinions and views to myself and not be constantly challenged to debate them! Not that I was challenged here. It was mostly men after all and they were old enough to remember to be polite to a lady.

So with my heart a thumpin', I began my 7 minute speech on my new business as a Shelf Reliance/THRIVE consultant and the importance of 'being prepared'. It was supposed to be brief so I didn't give them much more than what I give you on a blog! I sat down thinking "No one clapped. I must have really sucked!"

Fast forward to the end of the meeting.

I had 7 men and 1 woman sign up to know more/host a party (well I called it a 'product demonstration' instead! They are not exactly the 'Mary Kay' crowd!)

And yesterday I had my first customer purchases which were large enough to boost my status ranking from a 'consultant' to a 'mentor' and qualify me for quite a bit of free product for myself and a real commission next month! And my first 'product demo' is scheduled for next Friday.

I am now OFFICIALLY open for business!

Which just goes to show you how much can change in 7 minutes!
