What's YOUR Best 'Worst Case Scenario'?

It's no laughing matter. There are a lot of disasters out 'there'. We are sort of cushioned as long as those disasters stay out 'there' and don't bother us 'here'. We read of war, shortages, unemployement, famine, pestilence, disease, earthquake, and so many etc. Some things we have experienced to some degree. I remember my first big earthquake. We lived about 5 miles from the epicenter so it was a violent bit of shaking! I truly thought that California was going to slide into the Pacific Ocean and that this was my last day on earth! (That was 41 years ago this February 9th).

Not pleasant. I'm sure many of you have similar experiences.

Whatever the disaster may be that is lurking in your future, you have RIGHT NOW to do something ahead of it. Buy a case of soup or fruits or vegetables. Even tuna or spam. Don't forget a can opener (hand crank! Who knows if we'll have power!)

You know I've been harassing you for a long time about the what ifs. I've been doing everything in my bloggin power to convince you to order something yummy and nutritious from Shelf Reliance to at least put away in case of a job loss or other financial deficit or extended power outageor whatever. These are old stats but it's a good indicator of what's going on:

Really! What more can I do to increase your awareness and awaken your sense of urgency? You know you waste money on frivolous things, expensive things, unecessary things. Diverting that money towards some food storage will not 'hurt' you. You know this so why am I continually harping on about it? What is YOUR best 'worst case scenario' and more importantly, are you ready?

Well there's a new menace out there. One for which there is no hope for release. A terrifying new disaster just waiting in the wings. Believe me, if you haven't heard of it before, it will scare the crap out of you!

I'm in the business of educating people, warning people, preparing people. Providing the best product I've ever found in taste, nutrition, convenience and affordability is what I do every day. I do it for myself and my family first and then I reach out to all of yous guys.

Please channel your inner boyscout before this next disaster strikes!! (No. It's not the November elections. But it's almost as scary!)

Yes. That's right. Zombie Apocolypse. Coming soon. As if we didn't already have enough to worry about!

Pictures worth a 1000 words

We've had a little rain...

And a bit of wind...

(PS. This is NOT snow!)

And road closures...

At this time, there are no delivery trucks able to bring in food to our grocery stores. And this storm is not over yet...

Many of my friends are without power.
Many more are short on food in their pantries.
Many are calling me for orders that I can't promise will be delivered.

SHELF RELIANCE....Just sayin'

Why I HEART the Q

Once upon a time in another era, the friendly milkman could be seen and heard in the early hours of the morning, on his daily route delivering fresh milk right to the doorstep of his customers. Not only fresh milk, but cream or half-n-half or (do I dare recall the most wondrous of all deliveries?) creamy thick chocolate milk!! Mom just checked off what she wanted, put the slip of paper out with the empty bottles and voila'! She got just what she wanted. She paid her bill once a month and never had to worry about it.

That's what I heart about the Q. Really heart it! I made my master list of all the goodies I wanted for my family by starting with the suggested items from the THRIVE planner tool on the Shelf Reliance website. I eliminated items I didn't care for or need and added items I knew I would use and that my family loved.

Then I sent it off to the magical land of Q! There I determined what day I wanted my 'Thriveman' to deliver my 'groceries'. I chose a budget that fit into my lifestyle and set up the automatic payment to go with my automatic delivery. That's it! I set it and forget it.

But I heart that I can edit my shipments each month if I want to, to include items I want right now (like fudge brownies instead of cauliflower)(who knew?)

I heart that after the first 90 days, I can change my budget amount. If I'm going to be away for a month (surfing in Hawaii or sailing around New Zealand)(LOL) I can pause the shipment.

Lots of food without lots of shopping. Without wasting it. Without worry.
I'll say it again: I

YOU CAN TOO! ~

SAY "CHEEEESE"

At the end of this post there will be a video showing you how to use the Freeze dried cheese from THRIVE. I think almost any main dish is enhanced when you add cheese to it. I love cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, extra cheesey pizza and thick and gooey on almost any casserole. My plan is to make sure I have plenty of #10 cans of it. Colby, Mozzerella, Cheddar.
I may not need to use it for a while but knowing it's there makes me more secure. Homemade wheat bread toasted cheese sandwiches is comfort food at it's finest!

PS. THIS JUST IN! ON JAN. 17TH 9 NEW PRODUCTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THRIVE. THESE INCLUDE ~ FD CHERRIES, FUJI APPLE, GRANNY SMITH APPLE, RED BELL PEPPERS, GREEN CHILI PEPPERS, SEASONED & SLICED CHICKEN (AS APPOSED TO DICED), SLICED BEEF, CHERRY YOGURT BITES AND WHOLE STRAWBERRIES!!! Order here.

HAPPY THOUGHTS ON SAVING TIME

One of the dearest persons in my life has stated that her New Year's Resolution is to make better use of her time. Such a wise idea! You know the last time I looked there were still only 24 hours in a day and a lot of those are devoted to sleep and video games. (Well one is a definite necessity!) We'll never be able to squeeze 8 days out of 7. It just can't be done.

I remember someone said once that Donald Trump has the same number of hours in a day as we have and look what he's done with them! I think you get where I'm going or where I'm coming from.

Time! It rushes by, never to return. In the end we will all be rewarded with a complete memory of every moment we spent. Or wasted. Or missed out on.

Now that's a scary thought! Moments we could have spent in meaningful endeavors, conversations, activities, gone.

If I can free up time in the kitchen, without a personal chef (which I can't afford), or 3 meals a day at restaurants and fast food joints (which I also can't afford, takes just as long to drive to town and puts wear and tear on my tires and a big tire around my waistline) and I want complete nutrition to boot, THRIVE is the obvious solution.

What I've prepared so far for my family using the convenience of THRIVE freeze dried and dehydrated food, has been quick, delicious and well received. Less time in the kitchen preparing means more time in meaningful endeavors, conversations and activities.

Babies don't stay babies. Toddlers become teens. Parents grow old. And 25 or 50 or 100 minutes more per day to make a memory I will treasure is a priceless gift.

Time. What are you doing with yours?
